The scope of the project included the structural reassessment of the steel roof structure of the SK Slavia Praha football stadium in Eden, Prague. The objective was to verify the structural safety and serviceability of the existing structure in accordance with current European standards.
The project involved a detailed inspection of the stadium roof, focusing on the actual loads acting on the structure, including the roof build-up, lighting, loudspeakers and other technical equipment. The findings were subsequently compared with the assumptions of the original structural calculations from 2006 and incorporated into the new structural assessment.
The original structure was designed in accordance with the Czech ČSN standards applicable at the time. The new assessment therefore had to account for different load and material factors under the current Eurocodes, updated wind and snow loads, and stricter requirements resulting from the stadium's classification into consequence class CC3. To improve the accuracy of the calculations, climatic load data obtained from the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute (CHMI) were also used.
The structural assessment confirmed that the steel roof structure meets the requirements for structural safety and serviceability under current standards. Thanks to the favourable actual loading conditions and the existing structural reserves, no additional modifications to the load-bearing structure were required.
