Design, Fabrication and Pre-Assembly of the Steel Structure for a 6-Module CRU

Description

The scope of the project included the design, fabrication and pre-assembly of the steel structure for a modular CRU (Coke Removal Unit) designed for coke filtration from the quench oil circuit. The steel structure was designed as the supporting system for the process equipment.

Following fabrication, the entire unit was fully pre-assembled in Pardubice, where its geometry, assembly interfaces and readiness for shipment were verified. The structure was subsequently dismantled into individual modules and prepared for transportation to the installation site in South Korea.

The structure was designed in accordance with the American standards AISC 360-16 and ASCE 7-16, taking into account the climatic conditions at the installation site. The engineering scope also included assessment of temporary assembly conditions, handling during pre-assembly, and loads arising during road and sea transportation.

Scope of work:

  • Design of the load-bearing steel structure for the modular CRU
  • Fabrication and pre-assembly of 6 process modules, a header module and a stair tower
  • Structural assessment for assembly and transportation conditions
  • Structural design in accordance with AISC 360-16 and ASCE 7-16
  • Preparation of the structure for oversized transportation to South Korea
