As part of the modernization of the Mlada Boleslav Heating Plant, we prepared design documentation for approximately 1,600 tonnes of steel structures for wood chip sorting, conveying and storage systems.
The project included the design of steel structures supporting the wood chip sorting equipment, conveyor bridges and transfer towers, as well as extensive superstructures above the storage silos. The structures were designed to accommodate high technological loads, operational and maintenance requirements, and to ensure reliable long-term operation.
The project also included structural analysis of the conveyor bridges during erection. The bridges were installed on site as fully pre-assembled units, including cladding and technological equipment. For the storage silo superstructures, a statically determinate support system using elastomeric bearings was designed to allow safe thermal expansion of the steel structures without transferring excessive horizontal forces to the reinforced concrete silos.
For this project, we collaborated with VH Steel and Construction s.r.o. for the general contractor, OB1 ZERO CARBON ENERGO a.s. We would like to thank both partners for their professional cooperation and the trust they placed in us throughout the delivery of this significant project.
